Colombia Secret Zouk is more than a festival. It is an immersive experience born from resilience, passion, and the dream of building something beautiful in a place that the world once feared to discover.

For many years, Colombia carried the weight of a difficult history. Medellín, especially, became known internationally for its past rather than for its people, its culture, its warmth, or its incredible capacity to transform pain into art, joy, and community. But Colombia is much more than the stereotypes that once defined it. And Colombia Secret was born from the desire to reveal that hidden truth.

This event is an invitation to experience the real Medellín through dance, connection, music, and human warmth. It is an opportunity to discover a city full of life, creativity, resilience, and love for community.

From Spark to Movement

The story of Colombia Secret is deeply connected to the story of Brazilian Zouk in Medellín.

Back in 2018, when the dance community was still very small and almost unknown in the city, Camila Betancourt — founder of Colombia Secret and one of the pioneers who introduced Brazilian Zouk to Medellín — began building what at the time seemed impossible: a sustainable and united Zouk community in Colombia.

It was not easy.

Unlike larger dance scenes around the world, the Colombian community had very limited access to international training, festivals, and instructors. Traveling abroad to learn was financially inaccessible for many dancers, and information arrived slowly. Building a community from almost nothing required persistence, sacrifice, and enormous faith.

But Colombians are resilient by nature.

What the community lacked in resources, it compensated with heart. Through years of dedication, local training, cultural exchange, and collective effort, a strong, passionate, and deeply connected Zouk family began to emerge in Medellín.

Little by little, a dream became a movement.

Today, Colombia Secret exists as a celebration of that journey — a celebration of every dancer who believed, every artist who contributed, every friendship created on the dance floor, and every person who chose to stay and build something meaningful together.

This event is also our way of showing the world another face of Colombia:
a country full of talent,
